If your motherboard speed is less than that, then RAM will adjust the speed as per motherboard speed. You may need to set XMP profiles, different voltage under BIOS to run it on 3200 MHz speed. If you install XMP memory in a non-XMP motherboard, or don’t have XMP enabled, the memory will simply run at whatever JEDEC timings the computer decides.
